I got into cyber – to help my parents from being victims of cyber scams. I had to teach them (and still teach them) how to identify phishing and other scams and to call me immediately if they suspect something suspicious.

The experience that set me up for success – was training my Alaskan Malamutes. Since they do not speak my language, I had to help them understand what I was saying through kindness and repetitive teaching. Also, what motivates one dog does not necessarily motivate the other one. This is where I learned patience, hard work, perseverance, and emotional intelligence are key to success.

I would tell my younger self – to never be afraid to ask for help. It takes a team to help you succeed, whether this is your family, spouse, friends, or colleagues; you can always lean in, find support, and talk through problems, and ideas, or simply tell jokes.
