What is RISE?
RISE is a 10-month mentorship program for women professionals invested in advancing their career in cyber or for the successful transition into a cybersecurity career.
Mentors
You Are:
- An experienced professional and leader in technical functions or disciplines underpinning cybersecurity
- Motivated to develop your leadership skills and learn from the mentoring experience
- Able to commit to at least 8-10 hours through the course of the 10-month program
You Will:
- Expand and diversify your professional network and sphere of influence
- Work within a program designed to motivate and provide structured guidance for efficient participation
- Be recognized for your leadership in advancing women in cyber
Protégés
You Are:
- Self-identifying as female
- A resident and able to work in the USA
- A professional in cyber or have related transferable skills/experiences, and ideally more than three years of work experience.
- Have a preliminary work-based goal within the breadth of cybersecurity
You Will:
- Get clear on work-based goals, transferable skills, and demonstrate readiness for their career goals
- Learn how to leverage the NICE framework to build evidence-based competency in workforce standards
- Create diverse and supportive networks for continued professional and personal development
Program Components
Getting Started Seminar (Virtual)
Facilitated onboarding session helps to plan how to get the best value from the program and to start crafting a work-based goal.
Mentoring and Networking (Hybrid)
With personalized mentor matching and opportunities to participate in Cyber Guild events and access the growing RISE alumni network, participants deepen relationships and grow professional networks.
Lifelong Learning Modules (Virtual)
Participants explore their unique strengths and transferable skills through guided self-discovery, gaining insights to help refine how they present themselves—on paper and in conversation—to build clarity, confidence, and professional alignment.
Professional development (In-Person)
A two-day, immersive experience. Day one is a dynamic workshop to hone skills for better self-advocacy in job selection and in the workplace. Day two culminates in a RISE Graduation ceremony held during Uniting Women in Cyber (UWIC).
