See It To Be It Spotlight

𝗜 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗯𝘆…following tangents from my previous career in Library and Archives Conservation, by way of an interest in Document Forensics, through a masters in Computer Forensics, resulting in a role in cyber threat intelligence.

𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲, 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝘀…the metaphor of cybersecurity as an immune system. We’re constantly under attack and our job is to make sure that there are resilient systems to support us in continuity of operations even if we have the sniffles.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗰𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀…relentless curiosity.

𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲…the problems we face in cybersecurity are too large and interconnected for any individual to solve. We need as many talented people as we can, working with the whole of their experience and drive to come together to make the world safer for our families and our businesses.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗪𝗜𝗖? My favorite part of attending the UWIC conference I went to was how many incredible people I knew from so many places who were all in the room, getting behind the same goal of solving complex problems with everyone’s talents.
