Innovating Ahead of The Pacing Threat: Anticipating and Outpacing China’s Cyber Ambitions
The Cyber Guild is excited to be a partner at the upcoming Billington CyberSecurity Chatham House Rule breakfast dialogue. This event will provide a unique opportunity to engage with and hear invaluable perspectives and insights from cybersecurity leaders who play a significant role in shaping how the U.S. and our allies are positioned to outpace the current and future threat.
The U.S. and its allies are facing the most challenging national security environment in half a century. Global geopolitical turmoil and great power competition are threatening to establish a “post-west” global order – one that is conducive to the survival of authoritarian regimes and their journey for territorial expansion and increased global power.
As a society, we are at the forefront of a massive technology shift driven by AI, software-defined everything and hyperconnectivity, where the digital and physical world are becoming seamlessly connected. Our adversaries are using this to their advantage, leveraging cyber to project power, impose economic costs and increase global stature. The war in cyberspace continues to escalate as evidenced by recent Chinese activity with Volt Typhoon and Salt Typhoon.
To outpace this growing threat, the U.S. and its allies must continue to innovate and maintain strategic advantage in the cyber domain. In this discussion, we will explore how to collectively leverage knowledge of the adversary and transformative technologies as force-multipliers to strengthen defensive and offensive mechanisms against the PRC’s sophisticated and rapidly advancing cyber strategy and tactics.
