I got into cyber…while I was in college studying communications. During this time, the term “cybersecurity” was a major buzzword, and I was quickly finding myself drawn to the multitude of career paths it presented but didn’t know where to start. Fortunately, while working as a marketing intern, an opportunity presented itself to head up campaigns specifically geared at discussing the cyber landscape. Due to the broadness of the cyber topics that I was tasked with covering, I developed a “little bit” of an obsession with learning all the nuances in the field. I’ve been working in cyber since graduating college and love continuing to apply the knowledge I gain to help my customers in multiple different industries.

For me, a positive cyber mindset is…ensuring that the customers I work with are fully equipped with the most reliable DNS and Application Security Technology to ensure a strong presence over the internet.

What is your favorite part about The Cyber Guild’s Uniting Women in Cyber (UWIC)? While conferences can be intimidating, my favorite part was that I felt everyone at UWIC was eager to meet new people and connect. The speakers were all so wonderful, and it was great to hear from so many industry leaders. All the panel discussions were interesting but hearing more from Heather Fischer, Senior Advisor for Human Rights Crimes, on human trafficking was a segment that stuck with me.
